A threat to over 40% of the world's population
The Novartis Malaria Initiative video was created alongside various online promotional materials to elevate and chart the progress Novartis and it’s partners have made in attempt to eradicate malaria. The initiative is a holistic program focused on access, treatment, R&D and capacity-building, tailored to best meet patient needs.
The initiative partnered with Roll Back Malaria, IBM, Vodafone, and the Tanzanian government in a public-private project called “SMS for Life.” Using mobile phones and electronic mapping technology, “SMS for Life” helps eliminate stock-outs of essential malaria medicines in public health facilities, increase access in rural areas, and reduce the number of deaths from malaria.
